How to Purchase Fenestra Wine

1976-2006: 32 Years of Medal-Winning Winemaking in the Livermore Valley

"Fran and I started Fenestra Winery in 1976 at the old Ruby Hill/Stony Ridge Winery. As I recall, there were only 5 wineries at that time: Wente, Concannon, Villa Armando, Stony Ridge and Fenestra. I was still teaching Chemistry full-time at San Jose State University, and we were living in San Jose. We moved our winery to our present location in 1980. We have seen remarkable changes in the Livermore Valley with the planting of new vineyards and the emergence of new wineries (now 35)." - Lanny Replogle, Owner

Fran and Lanny Replogle, owners of Fenestra Winery, celebrate 30 years of award winning winemaking in the Livermore Valley With a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, winemaker Lanny Replogle’s aim is to produce flavorful well-balanced wines with a lot of varietal character. “I like the challenge of making each varietal, each year, an individual wine.”

The charming winery site dates back to the 19th century when George True, a German immigrant, constructed the winery building and planted the first vineyards on the property.

Tasting Room Hours

The tasting room is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12-5 PM. At Fenestra you can taste wines inside the winery surrounded by wine aging in barrels, and in the company of Fenestra Fanatics, immensely loyal and enthusiastic members of Fenestra’s Wine Club. A creek and vineyards edge the shaded picnic area. The ambiance is that of no-frills, country winery where the owners greet every visitor as a welcome guest, and the guests soon become old friends.

NEW: Take a tour of the tasting room!

Library Tastings Every Weekend

We have started a regular program of sampling up to three library wines for a nominal fee of $5.00 ($3.00 for Fanatics). These wines are available in limited  quantities for purchase. We have poured several wines, including '89 Merlot, '92 Cabernet Sauvignon, Livermore Valley and '96 Zinfandel, Lodi. These tastings are very popular. However, since the quantities of these wines are quite limited, the lineup will change periodically.
