Fenestra Established 1976
Medal-Winning Winemaking in the Livermore Valley
Fran and I started Fenestra Winery in 1976 in the old Ruby Hill/Stony Ridge Winery. As I recall we were only the fifth winery in the valley at that time: Wente, Concannon, Villa Armando, Stony Ridge and Fenestra. I was still teaching Chemistry full-time at San Jose State University, and we were living in San Jose. We moved our winery to our present location in 1980.
Since those early days, we have seen remarkable changes in the Livermore Valley with over 50 wineries in the valley today.

Fenestra Tasting Room
Fenestra's Tasting Room is located within the working winery. Guests can taste wines inside our rustic cellar surrounded by barrels of aging wines. And, during harvest season, guests can even see winemaking in progress as grapes are crushed and fermented on the property. Once you taste our many award-winning wines, you may decide to join our wine club---"Fenestra Fanatics", comprised of immensely loyal and enthusiastic fans of our consistently wonderful wines. The grounds surrounding our tasting room offer a lovely creekside setting amongst our estate vineyards, the perfect place for a picnic accompanied by a glass of our wine. The ambiance is that of a no-frills, rustic country winery where the owners greet every visitor as a welcome guest, and the guests soon become old friends.
Tasting Room Hours
The tasting room is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12-5 PM.
Fenestra Wine Tasting Flight
We stop pouring wine at 5PM and wine sales at 5:30.
