Fenestra Winery is hosting its annual Harvest Wine Tasting event on September 25th and 26th from noon to 5pm, both days. The tasting fee is $5 per person, and no charge for club members.

The winery will be tasting all its newest releases, which include the 2009 vintages of Semillon and Verdelho. The new red wine releases include a 2006 Merlot, 2007 Zinfandel, 2007 Petite Sirah (all from Livermore Valley). Fenestra will also be pouring tastes of the previously released wines, some of which are almost sold out: 2008 Semillon & 2009 Dry Rosé, of Livermore, and 2008 Viognier of Contra Costa County. All wines will be available for purchase, with special case prices of $150 on the 2008 Chardonnay (Livermore) and 2006 Alvarelhão (Lodi, Silvaspoons Vyd).

“It’s an exciting time to visit the winery,” says winemaker, Brent Amos. “The grapes are fermenting, the vines are changing colors, and there’s a buzz of excitement.”
The crush is in full swing at Fenestra, as the Production staff has started crushing some of this harvest’s varietals, including popular favorites like the Verdlho, Pinot Gris, Cabernet Franc, and a returning hit, the Torrontes.

Fenestra is known for their wide variety of wines (the tasting room currently offers around 20) and their gift of blending, the most popular being their signature “True Red, Lot 24,” which is a table wine comprised of about 30 different varietals.

DIRECTIONS: From I-680 north, take the East Hwy-84 exit (towards Livermore) and go six miles. Turn right at the light for Vallecitos Road and Fenestra is the first driveway on the left. From I-580, take the Airway Blvd (Hwy 84 west) exit and go south on Airway Blvd. Turn right at Kitty Hawk, which later becomes Isabel Ave. Continue down Isabel Ave. until you get to the Vallecitos Road traffic light and turn left. Fenestra is the first driveway on the left. The winery is open for sales and tasting every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon – 5pm.
