Fran and Lanny Replogle of Fenestra Winery invite the public to explore the world of chocolate with a variety of fine red wines of Fenestra at Fenestra’s “16th Annual Chocolate and Cabernet Weekend” on March 8 and 9, 2008, Saturday and Sunday, from noon to 5:00 pm. This event will be held at Fenestra Winery, 83 Vallecitos Road, Livermore.

This weekend will be the time to indulge your passion for chocolate and red wines. Some of the many chocolate items include Bittersweet Chocolate Port Tarte , Raspberry Brownies, Chocolate Tea Bread and Almond Fudge-topped Shortbread, In addition to the traditional chocolate items, dark chocolate is used as a flavor ingredient in the savory dishes: Beef Brisket with Chocolate-Herb Sauce and Wild Mushroom Ragout. Among the many wines featured will be: Fenestra’s classic Livermore Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, True Red * Lot 21 *, Merlot, Estate Syrah, Touriga and Port. Gimanelli’s Deli will prepare the savory delights.

The $10.00 event charge includes a plate and logo wineglass. Event charge for children ages 5-12 is $ 5.00, ages 13-20 is $10.00 (includes plate and non-alcoholic beverage). There is no charge for children under 5 years old.

Fenestra Winery is located six miles from the Livermore 84 exit off Interstate 680, on the left side of Vallecitos Rd (formerly Highway 84). Turn right at the stoplight at Vallecitos Road, go a quarter mile, winery entrance on the left. From 580, take Airway Blvd/Highway 84 exit to Kittyhawk (stoplight). Follow Hwy 84 (which becomes Isabel Ave.) to the Vallecitos Road/84 stoplight. Turn left, go a quarter mile, winery entrance on the left. The winery is open for tasting and sales every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5:00 PM.
