Fenestra's Bottling Line: Machine 1205
Here is a close-up of Machine 1205. To the left one can see the bottle cleaner, where the bottles are turned upside down. After the bottles are cleaned (i.e. by air or nitrogen blown in the bottles), the bottles are righted and move along to the filler. The filler is the central piece of equipment shown. As one can imagine, the filler fills each bottle with the wine. The wine is usually pumped from a large storage tank into the filler. The filler fills eight bottles at a time.
The final equipment shown is the corker (to the right). The corker includes the magic leveler that takes out enough wine such that each bottle has the right amount of wine in the bottle. After the volume is leveled, the corker corks the bottle.
